Coach, Mentor, Friend
May 2, 1957 – May 27, 2022The Lake Shore Trap Team proudly honors the life and legacy of Robert C. Hubbard Jr., a man whose dedication, passion, and generous spirit helped build the very foundation of our team.
Christopher Hubbard, alongside his dad Robert Hubbard, founded the Lake Shore High School Trap Team with a vision to create a space where young athletes could grow in skill, confidence, and camaraderie through the shooting sports. As a volunteer coach, he poured countless hours into mentoring student-athletes—teaching not just the fundamentals of trapshooting, but also the values of responsibility, safety, and sportsmanship.
Bob was a natural leader and lifelong learner with a deep love for history, hunting, and hands-on craftsmanship. He could often be found sharing a story, offering advice, or building something (even if it wasn’t always finished). His passion was tireless, his guidance invaluable, and his commitment to youth unmatched.
Beyond the field, Bob lived a life of purpose and service. He was a devoted husband to LeeAnn, a proud father and grandfather, a machinist of 35 years, and an active member of numerous sportsmen and historical associations. His community involvement stretched far beyond our team, yet he always found time to invest in the people around him.
Bob’s legacy lives on not only through the Lake Shore Trap Team, but also through the many lives he touched—students, families, and fellow coaches alike. He gave freely, led humbly, and left a lasting impact on everyone fortunate enough to know him. Even in his passing, Bob remained a man of generosity as a Gift of Life donor.
We extend our heartfelt gratitude and love to his family—especially his wife LeeAnn, son Christopher, and all of Bob’s children and grandchildren. Thank you for sharing him with us.
The Lake Shore Trap Team will always be a reflection of his passion, his heart, and his extraordinary legacy.
Rest easy, Coach Bob Hubbard. We’ll carry on from here. - Fall Brawl 2021
